Ya I know Darin. :( All boils down to $$. Work the past month has been a lot slower than I had originally anticipated when I penciled out my budget. So at this point I am up in the Air about it. I won't be able to order my computer till Sept 22nd or so. SO, I am just weighing the risk/reward factor at this point. It isn't that I don't want to go, it's just that it might not be the wisest of decisions right now.

I officially cant go due to school. I have exams during that time :(

While I would love to go and tell school I'm sick and take the tests another day, I'll just plan on next year.

Keep at it Ben! Bottom line is don't rush it just to make it down. Put it together right and make sure you check everything off before doing something crazy. I've spent a lot of time double and triple checking everything and taking the break in nice and slow. I've got a couple tiny leaks I'm trying to track down that don't amount to much, but I want it perfect. Even if the car doesn't make it, I hope you can come!

Dang! Well, that would have been awesome man! All I know is that the only way I could make the trip is if everything went perfectly and work picks up. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Maybe get into contact with D. I am not sure if he is going yet or not.

Progress was made! Just nothing super note-worthy. I finished wiring in my headlights, bled the brakes, added an elbow to the AWIC, installed turn signals... that's about it. :( BUT!!!! It's not all bad!

I just saw Hank's bbq post. I think I am going to be sick. :barf:


There just isn't anyway that I am going to make it. The last 1.5 months we had a nasty slow down at work that has just decimated my budget. (down side to flat rate pay) I would have moonlighted some work that wasn't going to come to the shop, but in a small town word travels fast and it's a great way to loose a good paying job. Anyways, I am going to have enough to get it on the road but not nearly enough to make 1500 mile trip plus expenses.

Really bummed to read this Ben. You are the embodiment of what this event is all about. You are an enthusiast and one heck of a good guy. We all understand budgets for sure. Money is the one thing that stands in the way of us Battle Borners and rightful automotive glory. If there is something we can do as a community let us know. Anyway you can make it if the car can't?
