fudgeeeeee (thanks for your response though!
)
OK I guess its that time then. I'll see what I can do about a new fp and relay. Ugh relay is like $56 I think...and maybe I'll just throw a walbro 255 in the tank or somethin? That way I could get away with less than $200 for the whole repair.
Is this possible?

So I went to the junkyard and somehow managed to get everything I need lol.
The relay was sitting on the foor. No idea if its good or not, but I'll test to find out.
The fuel pump was an adventure lol. First of all the trunk was closed. In these cars you need to have the key to get in the trunk basically. You can't take the rear seats out without getting into the trunk so that was a no go. I got a crow bar and bent up the bottom of the trunk so I could get a screw driver into the trunk release and popped it open...so I had to break into the car to get what I needed haha.
So then I found the tank access and had to figure out how to get the top part and sender off. That was no small feat for me as I have never been inside a fuel tank whatsoever. Then when that was off I had no idea where the pump was or how to get it out so I just reached down there to see what I could feel and I thought it might be a good idea to twist it. So I did and out it came! I couldn't believe I actually did it. It took me all of 15 minutes from finding the car, to breaking into it, to figuring out how to get the pump out haha.
Now its time to see if she works...
it looks like this. Is this the correct pump?

oh ok AWESOME!
I would have already had it in, but it started squalling here as soon as I got back from the junkyard. I have faith that the actual pump will function as it still had fuel in the lines when I got it from the car. Not so sure about the relay, but now I have two (not sure if either are good haha). I'll be keeping a jumper wire in the car with me in case I need to jump it if I get stranded somewhere
I think I am going to replace the fuel filter at my earliest convenience too as I have no idea if its been changed at all yet.
Will update tomorrow if/when it goes in. I have to work during the day, so it might not. This is good though because if it does work then I can proceed with putting the brakes/front wheels on and tuning on Friday!

are you getting your new wheels dyno tuned?
what do you expect for gains now that you have porsche power?

lol I would if it was a 4-wheel dyno, but he just has a 2-wheel. Probably lose power from all the added porsche weight...but at least I'll be able to stop well and have a fat ass!
In all seriousness, we are going to street tune the car now that it finally has the right MAT sensor patch file in the ECU (as long as there are no other issues...crossing fingers and knocking on wood)
Should be just like a normal chipped 3b, but maybe a little more power and probably better fuel economy. Those things happen when you have the best tuner in the land!

Hey Scot

YES, the relay was sitting on the floor in the front passenger kick area because I LEFT THERE in case someone like you needed it more than I LOL!!!
That's just hilarious!! :bump:
I pulled the relay from the fuse/relay box on the passer's kick side.
The casing came off as I pulled on it from the fuse/relay box but I think it should be fine as it looked very cleaned two weeks ago. I must confess the little mess you saw on the fuse box area was done by yours truly. Hey, one way of looking at it is that I made it easy for you to just grab relays
I visited that V8 in two ocassions to se if I could grab anything for my 5KTQ but pretty much came up empty handed.
So you managed to open the trunk?
-Regards
Louis

hahaha thats effin awesome man!
I don't know if I would have found them otherwise! I was looking under the hood because thats where my starter relay is. Then I saw that whole mess by the kick and my buddy is like oh there it is! The pass door was locked so we had to crawl in from the driver's side and look.
Yeah I got the trunk open. I posted a little about it in that other for sale thread...but long story short, I really HAD to get in there so I took a crow bar and bent the metal of the trunk up a little right where it latches and then stuck a screw driver in there and unlocked it lol. So basically I had to break into the car just to get at what I wanted and THEN I had to figure out how the hell to get at the fuel pump. I have never even remotely had my hands near a car gas tank and its components. I feel like that is the only T44 around here.
We gotta meet up sometime man! I thought I was the only oldskool audi guy here in south florida. The local VW/Audi guys have get togethers here on friday nights all over palm beach county. You are always welcome to come so let me know if you ever care to make an appearance
**edit** I didnt even notice you called me Scott so its all good haha

haa is it really that big? I'll shrink it if so. I kept it under 200 pixels for height. **edit** done
Ya man I love the wheels. I just can't wait to get some suspension on the car so it doesn't handle with boat-like characteristics.
I think I have finally decided that I am going with ground control, bilstein sports, and the igor mod. I never knew it was all so "straight forward."
I do love yours bro, its probably right along the lines of how I'd do a 4k if I had one. Maybe someday I will! Ya I dunno why I didn't know that was you haha. I guess I have just been way too busy with my own stuff that I haven't had time to go looking at others.
