The car is running great! more bost yet? no
next week...but i keep saying that. Ive got a few things to tie up to make me happy with the long drive there.(to tune for more boost.) I should be able to do that this weekend so Im running out of excuses. ;-) Im leaning toward a daily tune of 25 PSI instead of the spring 15.8~ psi. That graph back there was no boost control just the spring on the V60 doing work. I suspect at 32 PSI+ 93 octane will no longer be sufficient, and for experimental purposes(souly, mind you) we may need to feed it some go juice. Regardless of what said "go juice" it is, its attainable. haha we'll see! Maybe I'll just pussy out and leave it with 93.
Still.... I cant wait for 25PSI!! lol
I really want to make a rear muffler delete pipe to pop in. its a 3" v band up near the rear CV. I want to just make a straight 3" to follow the natural path and exit out. Its pretty simple and not too expensive. Ultimately Id like to put in an electronic cutout pre rear diff.
You guys, though... seriously this things exhaust note literally anywhere in the rev range is like a 5 cylinder symphony. Like it might get weird in here like were all holding our hats over our crotches if I keep talking about it. Thats the way it should be. Seriously though. ITS RETARDED. THE VIDEOS ONLY GIVE YOU A TASTE. It feels really good, realllllly good to drive my 4000.

Have you looked into oxygenated race gas (ELF105 rings a bell, not sure if it's still available post Total) vs. regular stuff like VP109? Supposed to be a lot more oomph available.

SOME of you know already, but i did a hard pull 3rd to 4th and had a hard grind. next shift attempt was one shot at 4th....brick wall...3rd...brick wall. All others function. So i drove it home.thats as far as I've gotten. This weekend aill see what happened but from what I can tell the pedal was soft so the master is pooping out or I needed a bleed. it only ground once on me before so... Ill have it out and apart this weekend. Hopefully it a shift collar and a few synchros and just throw it back together. We'll see...

No time yet for trans pull. Hopefully this weekend.
FW ring gear: Some "engineers"("our friends") poorly designed the ring gear integration to the fw. PP bolts pass through the ring gear so if you run short bolts it seriously effects the stuctural integrity of the ring gear itself. With only MM's or.meat left after the hole is tapped. Ring gears need to.be welded to fw. Im not sure if hank is just pre welding them all now. I dunno. Hes too busy working on tractor motors. We dont talk often. Lol

Another company. With some numbers in their name. Last I heard Hank is working on his own solution (which may be some sort of partnership with 034, not sure).

I could give excuses...
Its not out yet. lol
Cold starts are mint though. 30 degrees, no playing with the throttle it will start up and purr like a sexy kitten. I hate to take the damn thing out without even a temp replacement cuz I know it'll be out a while, unless the damage is just a fork and/or a synchro. It sucks its 3-4 because thats the last one to press off if I had to! I hate having cars that cant move themselves for too long. ;-)
Maybe before the weekend is up. It only weighs 300lb with me in it lol

So... wait. The flywheel is broken as well as the tranny? There HAS to be another 01E sitting around somewhere that you can throw in if it's just the tranny. Flywheel is another matter which hopefully has a real solution soon.

Alright cool, yeah I wasn't clear on what happened. And you're using the same flywheel, correct? That's good that it's okay, I don't want to see failures lol.
Hopefully just the shift fork like you said. Need more vids!!

And I have a CYT gearbox that I might be selling. $1500. As far as I can tell it's the same as a DQT, or in other words C4 TDI gearbox with 4.11

The flywheel will be getting welded when the trans comes out. The ring gear to the flywheel.

I thought they were known to break and destroy the teeth on the ring gear?

Is it the fasteners that secure the ring gear to the flywheel what is presumed to let go?
Isn't one steel and the other aluminum? If so, what is getting welded?
