-the turbo tractor
past:

Bore o scope Tonight. Its my fault for using tensioners from a used motor with 28k miles...oh well. Hopefully the heads ok. Not worried about a nick in the piston but i hope the heads ok. Id be tempted to build a head now if its hit...

So long story short i ran all late tensioners and chains on all late stuff except the crank. The crank is 06 and that runs a different style lower chain(all pre 08). So the relay cog to relay lower chain to upper had to be changed along with the gear on the oil pump. As a result of the chain not seating properly on thr crank cog it had slipped at some point making both cams "advance". Not sure if theres valve damage yet but ill know later tonight via a snap-on boroscope. The rear cover, front cover and pan are back on and the cam gears need to be tightened for timing to be finalized. Should be back on the road this weekend and hopefully i wont be swapping a head any time soon. :-/

Progress and here you can see the difference in the two sprockets. This pan and rear timing cover better not leak now damnit!!!

If you change to an early crank you run all early timing components. Eating dinner then some boroscope. I was hoping i could USB it for a vid but im told the cables not with it. Well see when i look at the unit when Im back.

I dunno what I am more shocked about, the fact that you managed to not notice the gear width/type, or that it actually ran for 3 weeks to 7500rpm. lol

Good lucky save
