Still waiting on a shipment of tall deck motors from Europe so we can start on the block. Rods and pistons are being made soon to let this guy rev to the moon

Yes, I have a feeling I will have some good fun with the E39! The best part about it is that my dad has always dreamed of owning one. I'm going to surprise him with it on Christmas morning (if all goes well with the sale that is!)
Hank, Woohoo! I am looking forward to some pictures of that stuff

I've been lusting after an E39M5 for the longest time! Details on the M5?

Me and Stephen were talking yesterday about the 200 and I told him you should put the lambo wheels on it! As for the e39, he has some uber rare Holden wheels 5x120 that you should check out! They are the only set for sale in the US and there are less than 10 sets for sale worldwide!

I'll supply details on the M5 when it's mine! Don't want to jinx it or anything, but the basics are 70k miles, anthracite color, already has Bilstein coilovers, and looks to be in beautiful shape. We'll see just how nice it is when I get there, but I've been reassured that it will not disappoint.
Mike, I did test fit them once... it is really hard to get the rears to fit, but stretched tires (265's will be majorly stretched lol) might make it work. Honestly, I came to the conclusion that they are too much trouble to make work since I'll have to get some monster spacers made as well (they are high offset from the factory). I'd have to invest another $500 in them which I'd rather put into my speedlines.

This approach to the tall deck is the one that most excites me. Can't wait to see/hear more!

160/86.4=1.85 Little higher rod ratio than a busa, little lower than an r1
We could probably go as high as 164mm rods, but that would require billet rods.... Not sure you smoldering m5 wallet is ready for that cost
164/86.4= 1.89
Yummy.

What is that sinking feeling? Oh yeah... my bank account :( Seriously depressing!
On the upside, custom pistons, rods, diesel block, and Calico rod/main bearings now have my name on them. If only I could drive it now! I think that would help quell that sinking feeling

Updates are on the horizon!

Engines at 11k are probably the best script available for depression. Just imagine it and you will start to smile, promise.

Are you going 01E now as well? I am very interested in any/all custom parts necessary for the swap so make them x2

What's the rod length and compression height?
I would thing the tall block is almost TOO tall for little ol' 86.4 crank.

Awweee yeah Marc! Lets see the pics!
...or do I have to post my secret spy shots from my secret spy?
Nick, I believe it is going to be a euro TDI 01E, but there hasn't been a whole lot of discussion on that. I think Hank has a solution for us though, so not to worry!
Marty, 160mm rods. I dunno compression height off-hand, but I'm sure Hank does.
Hank, I know... I was daydreaming about it yesterday and it did the trick for sure.
