I was down at Hank's shop when he did that and it was echoing off all the buildings! Everywhere Hank went it wasn't ever less than full throttle. No wonder he went through 3 tanks in 3 days!!! 35 psi in the HTA35R and E85 in a 2.6L engine....a beast!

Thanks to Hank I now know what it probably would've been like to ride in a Group B car. The torque that thing produces is absolutely amazing.

No problem on the rides. Darin is right, I beat the living piss out of the car all weekend, put 3 tanks of e85 in it at 22 gallons+ each time, and the only real issue was a slightly leaking valve cover gasket that was putting a little bit of oil into the spark plug hole. I could probably use a new expansion tank cap too, but give the thing a break, it was putting up with donuts and 0-90-0mph blasts up and down the parking lot all afternoon. None engine related, the passenger door latch was a POS all weekend.

Red rock was a blast trying to lose, and then trying to catch Jimmy Green in his Yellow 'nana. With another 240+ fellow in the passenger and with Jimmy solo, we were just about even in 3rd gear with the same gear ratio at 4500rpm roll ons as you would expect with basically the same turbo, but I could grab him a few car lengths in 4th down at 3500 rpm rolls pretty easily. Think my 2.6L still spools about 300-400 rpm sooner than his, but the top end of his setup is really nice. You can feel when the valve opens and lets hell loose. I don't look down at the dash too much anymore while driving at 35psi, but my passengers commented that I was shifting at around 7200 all weekend long. I finally paid attention a few pulls, and sure enough, my brain must be communicating with my butt dyno telling me the power is dropping off, and more meaty power/torque is available if I shift. This makes me long for hte 1.03 housing I have to see how it behaves. My hunch is that it will make the 2.6L spool identical to a spool valved 2.3L of Jims, with teh same top end. Pretty impressive for the spool valve if you ask me. Makes me long for the best of both worlds.

Didnt get on the dyno this weekend, but Jim and I both agreed that we probably both have cars hovering around that 550whp mark untuned, and probably more like 625 when tuned on the dyno. Hopefully Rudy or Jim will post up some vids from the chase around redrock.

Very happy overall with the state of the car. Can't wait to get it on the track

Also, my GPS showed 270 miles of total driving over the weekend, which puts me at a wholesome 4.08MPG.. That is how hard this thing was beat on this weekend. 1600cc injectors over pressured to be more like 1800cc injector at peak 92% duty cycle means almost 8.2L per minute at full throttle.

Hey, what was the coolant drip coming from or was that something else?

Were you both running 35psi? Those are some great first hand impressions with the cars side by side. It'd be great to see the exact same turbo on a stroker and then on a QSV'd car. So best of both worlds = about a 900rpm improvement? That's a hell of a lot more turbo for the same curve. 550whp is pretty impressive for not being tuned.

Also, LOL at your mileage. Wow. I want to see vids of the banana vs urq!

Ok, ok, ok.....since everyone seems to be talking about next year already, I propose a drag race at midnight mayhem to settle all this Green vs. Iroz unsettled business.

I was on pump gas and water meth injection at 31 psi. My car is fast, but Hanks car is brutal. There is no doubt he has more torque, but I think I might have him on the top end so it makes for a fun comparison. He got a pretty good jump on me in the 4th gear pull. While I was waiting for the turbo to spool, he was motoring away with his torques. The dyno would have been great to have, but we would probably still be there on it. I think it would have made an already crazy day into an even more exhausting day.

It would be fun to drag race, but I am just not into it. I have actually welded my clutch to the flywheel once screwing around launching the car. It took a rather high speed highway pull in 5th on the brakes, with the clutch in, at full boost to break it free.. I would rather torture my drive line drifting around turns :)

wow, you said it was really fast with the new turbo but it did not sink in until you said maybe stronger up top than Hank's. Hank's with the old engine reminded me not of a car at all, but actually, the same personality as a sport bike....more like an evil toy than any type of transportation. wow Jim. nice cars guys.

Yeah, Jim said it well. 2 completely different power curves. Mine is a rip the tires loose when the turbo spools at around 3800, and then really starts to fall off at around 7000 rpm. Jims car spools slightly later but has a wicked "vtech" effect when the 1.06AR happens around 4300. Then it has a wicked rush to redline. When we raced with 3rd gear pulls, I shifted to suite my powerband and he shifted to suite his. Would have love to put the 1.03 tial setup to see how it changed it when running with Jim

You can kindof see the way my car makes power in this vid.. Granted, I am battling a strange issue where oil is getting past the catch can into the intake tract. Compression is solid at 190psi, leak down is awesome across the board ect. On this pull with my neighbors 180whp race liter bike, It started to break up as massive amounts of oil were dumping into the intake. I think the sump is just overfilled, as my dip stick isn't perfect on my Eurovan to Longitude setup. I knew there were going to be some sideways action, so I put an extra half quart in. I don't think my breather pickups on the oil pan are liking that, especially near the rear plug where the oil dumps in from the oil pan via the distributer. I'll do some mods and get him later this week :)

This is all untuned setups too. Just road tuning and listening for det. Much more improvement on both setups to come!

One thing is for sure, Jims car is glued to the road. I am hoping he posts up some of his Red Rock romps. That thing just sticks. It is super smooth. I think I am done with solid mounts, even it it means revising my intake to clear the hood and go back to some different mounts.

I have some vids, but they are not as fun as I was expecting. Let me try and put something together. It will be lame compared to Darin's!

 Well that would be a hard act to follow.

Guys, I got to tell you that Hanks car is more impressive driving it. Today I went down to the shop since I was just trying to recoup and really didn't feel like doing much. Hank started the car and told me I needed to take it for a drive. I knew it was fast, but was really impressed at how hard it pulled in third and forth gears. It pulls scary hard at 120 the only difference is that the tires aren't breaking loose. Most definitely put a smile on my face!
