little beet of an update
Pulling my hair out dealing with trigger issues.

Replaced trigger sensor wiring to attempt to resolve trigger error issues i was having past 3000 rpms.
Also replaced the LS2 coils with 2.0t coils

Now the trigger errors are so bad it's not drive-able.
I'm pretty certain it's a ground I'm missing but holy shit I just wanna go beat on this thing.

On the plus side, found a silver V8 bumper a while back. On the negative, pick n pull destroyed the rear bumper so I could only get the front.

So many parts to install, so little time. Gotta have it ready for race cor life this year.
didn't make it to BBQ last year due to the secondary trigger wire coming out of the connector at the ECU when i redid my trigger wiring. Literally figured it out I think the weekend after BBQ. Amateur hour, dude.

Nah that's all. Pics sooner or later. Car is on 91 right now. still a hoot.

Oh damn, that sucks. Glad you figured it out!

mini update
Have been chipping away at little things here and there consistently. Tried to make a few track events in August, missed them by only a little bit. Had plans to make it to one or two in september and one in November. Decided to dyno the car to get tuning a bit more solid. Blew up engine on Dyno. First dyno pull I'm sitting in the passenger seat watching VEMStune to make sure all is good before we do any tweaking and I see the big Trigger error light at the top at around 6800rpms. It went away after about a second and then all of a sudden tons of smoke and my catchcan pops open from blowby.
Cyl 3 has zero compression. Car runs like shit. Pretty sure I Fried a piston hardcore. Haven't touched the car due to nonexistent motivation.

So. I'm prepping the new v8 for track duty for the at least 2 events I planned on hitting this year as I missed the 15 others I wanted to make it to. It's leagues slower but should still be at least a little bit fun.

I hate cars.

Dammit NOOOOO! We all blew our engines :bangshead:

Please keep us updated. Like my machinist says ".. or at least until you find the next weak-point."

I made the mistake of running OEM pistons. Sorry I can't recall your build.

PS sorry for all the weird content-less posts all I a row on the 2nd to last page. No idea what happened.

That sucks, the trigger error is pretty suspicious. I wonder if you got a little extra timing somehow when it happened. What does the log look like from the run?

Log looked fine besides the trigger error. Boost was within normal range, lambda was okay if not a tiny bit rich. IAT's were in the high 70's which is a bit worrisome, but even with huge fans Dynos don't get the best airflow. This pull was on e85 as well. Not sure the exact content though, should have tested it.

Lots of stuff to improve on when I have it all apart.
Good excuse to throw the 6 speed in while I have it apart though.

Following up on a previous conversation- I didn't realize it, but the FYF has different axle flanges on the front from a typical 01E, and I think actually might make 100 axles a 100% bolt in job.

I have a set of fyf flanges in the garage if you need measurements of anything.

Updates?
I feel like you should be doing way more with the Turd.

So. Bought my buddies Urs4 that had some piston issues. Hard to explain. will have to show pictures soon.
I helped him mod the car heavily a couple years back and it was a hoot to drive and work on. We lived together at the time so that made it much easier to work on with him.
Now it just needs like a thousand little things to be a good solid car and it's just not worth it to put the time in.
SO. I bought it from him for a good block, and a ton of really good parts like 993 Calipers that I'll be throwing on as well instead of the HP2's i've got lying around.

I like the Acid wash look, and I thought it was just for denim! You got some good parts but you should built the UrS ;)
