Im stoked to see what you do with this. I have a couple 07Ks that are stashed for my UrQ once I have some time away from kids and home improvements. Aside from 1 station with E85 near work I also worship the pump, so your results will count heavily. Godspeed sir!

Been mocking up and making progress on some little but pretty important items. The plan is to run an electric water pump, probably from a BMW. Lots of the aftermarket pumps are built for the small block crowd and the jury is out on the actual performance. The BMW pumps have been built to flow for a similar sized motor and have a built in controller that just needs a PWM signal to vary the speed. Need to talk to VEMS on this :). You can also just give them 12v to the PWM pin and they run at full speed like any aftermarket pump would do.

This allows you to move the alternator to the other side of the motor and have zero accessories in the way on the drivers side. I'll use the old water pump as a tap for the turbo cooling feed line.

Also started douching 10+ years of wiring harness hacks. ImageImageImage

Gonna be fun to watch the progress, and learn details about the 07k swap along the way.

Cheers!

Maybe I missed this. But what is the issue with having the accessories on the drivers side of the motor?

also, it looks like there is a shload more room from the back of your motor to the firewall then in my car, or is it just the angle this picture is taken at?

I don't have the rear cover on in that pic, but I still have quite a bit of room back there.

I am trying to run a side mount radiator still so getting the alternator out of there is nice. Plus there is next to nothing on the passenger side of the motor other than an air filter so plenty of space. Now there is more room for the new things on the drivers side like oil filter, oil cooler, water pump. The goal is as much weight off the front of the car as possible, with as much intercooler as possible :)

Looking good Jim. I like the black valve cover in the yellow bay. Why haven't we had the proverbial "Is it done yet?" :)

We have finalized a design so now things like intake, header radiator and intercooler can start taking shape. I think you guys will like what Hank and I have planned :)

I post in anticipation for the final product, nothing else... I'm as eager, as many here, to see this swap go as smooth and quick as possible. With how well you've executed each and every phase of the Vomit's past mods, I've been spoiled by your well documented updates...

Don't let the comment deter you... carry on...

Head is going on stock, with a large EFR 8374 and divided housing with quick spool valve.

I am hoping the lower boost and more open exhaust will keep the cams happy

The plan is to build head #2 if needed.

Did you end up selling all the meth injection stuff with the old motor? Or is it going on this one?

How... Are you going to route that? No hood? Lol. Nice cooling capabilities anyway!

Race you to pump gas 600whp? :D
