I feel like my eyes were going to bleed today after my wiring nightmare.



V6 harness

Cowl all reinstalled along with the fuse panel



dash mostly reinstalled

I still have 5 wires to hook up under the dash. I also need to swap the abs harness for the quattro car. I Dont have any pics but the brake lines are all done. The abs pump is is swapped, and as soon as I install the clutch slave cyl I can bleed the whole system out and check for leaks. My intercooler is ordered, so hopefully it shows up this week.

My goals for the week is to prep the aeb for the B4 chassis. I have some maint parts to install, along with the ADR mount legs. With any luck I can have this thing running next weekend.

I got the 90 trans out on Friday night. It was filthy from years of leaks.





Got it all cleaned up and mated to the 1.8t. Installed the engine and trans. Everything seemed to go smooth, even all the wiring lined up well.



Installed the front end and started mocking up the Intercooler.





Bled the brakes and clutch. Ran into a small snag with a fitting that won't seal, so I will be making a new line, luckily it's a easily accessed one.

Second issue is that the intercooler does not fit behind the euro cabriolet bumper I have, so I will either have to run the us spec bumper or try and source a euro v6 coupe bumper.

The throttle cable is too short, I will have to fab a new bracket or source a different cable that will fit.

Also need to figure out the p/s pressure line as neither the a4 or v6 one is close to fitting. And the rad hoses are way too short even with an ADR rad, so all that needs some attention as well. Any btdt experience appreciated.

try moving the intercooler down further, to rest on the bottom part of the bumper.

I used a b3 throttle cable.

I used the stock v6 p/s pressure line, it actually works, but isn't ideal.

Rad hoses were a bitch. I basically went to the back of my local autozone and bought random hoses trying to find something that would work, lots of trial and error. i'll look to see if i have a part number for the lower one (that is the trickiest).

With the euro cabrio bumper I have it actually has less room the further down you go due to the slant on the front end. The v6 coupe bumper is almost straight up and down according to the pics I have seen

Does anyone have a B3 throttle cable?

Please post up the hose part numbers if you happen to find them.

Another weekend update.



Installed the front snub mount



Got the front bumper installed



Finished gutting the interior of the parts car to remove abs wiring harness.

Also buttoned up a lot of little things. Wired rad fans and all the a/c wiring in the front. Also got the heater hoses finished, along with the fuel lines. Now its just a waiting game for the parts to roll in.

So I stayed late last night. Got my new a/c compressor installed but realized that I need a different line to the accumulator. I put the old k03 in for mockup purposes to get my downpipe tacked together. Here it is, not the prettiest but it fits.

Yay, I guess I know what my next job will be...

Congrats! With no exhaust it sounds like a tractor.. I love it. These 1.8Ts in the B4s seems like a great setup..

It's an awesome feeling to finally hear it run. The best part was plunging in the scan tool and talking to the ecu. It was nice for once to have all the wiring work out on the first try.

Only thing keeping it from moving is welding up the driveshaft supports and finishing up the intake plumbing. The only issue I'm having right now is my tach doesn't work. I'm not sure if it has to do with the wiring or my cluster.

Small update. I worked on her yesterday for the first time in too long. I finished routing my a/c lines and installed my new compressor belt. I also finished my intercooler piping. Finally I welded up my driveshaft support and got the car moving under its own power. Now for the bad news. My steering rack is shot, it is leaking out of the main seal pretty bad. I guess its time for a new seal haha.

More progress for the day. Got the front bumper on for good. Also found and installed the exhaust heat shields. Finally spent a bunch of time finishing up a bunch of little things like getting the tach to work and replacing burned out bulbs in the cluster. Then got a bunch of other minor wiring done such as reverse lights. Finally I got my wheels mounted up.

Thanks, they are courtesy of de80q. They are bent and I got them with a really bad black paint job. I just gave them a quick coat of graphite grey paint, so they are not perfect but will make good winter wheels once I find a nice set of 17" wheels for summer use.

Better then them going to the junk yard. Thats where they were heading.

Here is a little teaser for those still watching. I really didnt like the way this pipe welded. Maybe its the gas we use at work, but who knows. Either way, its together and ready to go on.

Minor update. I got the downpipe installed and O2 sensor in. If I didn't know better I would think it was made especially for this car haha.
