Brutal in that sense, but it'd be oh so nice to have the freedoms of home. Only downside besides reduced pay is that it's a desk job :/ Those things are kinda a big deal for me!

I'd have to agree.
My dad had an opportunity to go to a (Safe) military base in Afghanistan and do IT work there for a year. And make probably triple his current income.
Didn't want to leave everybody for a year, especially my mom.

I'm not really one that likes to travel much, and I don't really intend to move very soon so I might be biased.

Don't get me wrong, money is great, but at the end of the day; it's just not the same. I have always found fulfillment through relationships/Family over money.

Only thing is I'd assume you'd have to start paying for housing, food, gas, and other things that I'd assume your current company pays for.
Am I correct?
If so. That is a negative factor...

Yes, that is correct Phil. So essentially it is like a quarter of the salary lol.

Ben, I fully agree about family being more important. That is one thing this experience has solidified for me. It isn't just a job change though, its a life-altering career change! It'll also make it a lot harder to finish the revver 200 :P

Well, Oceanic has taken me years, and if anything I value it more now then I could have back when I was a rail roader. But more than that, it's all about personal priorities, Oceanic is important, but family/friends/etc are more so.

I will expand more when I have a little more time, but I went through an experience in the last few days which caused me to reach out to that other job offer. I will be quitting this job soon.

In other news, someone sent me a PM on MG and I replied to his questions and suggested that he come on over here for us to continue the conversation. I mentioned theprojectpad.com. He replied saying that he was confused because I said to go to motorgeek.com which as the site we were already on. At first I chalked it up to me being an idiot after the crap week I've had, but then I specifically remembered capitalizing TheProjectPad when I wrote it. Those bastards! It was a great way to explain why we moved though :) Perfect example. That kind of crap is just so sleazy. 034 Motorsports is just a giant sleaze-ball of crappy Audi parts  I love being free to speak my mind!

lol, they offered me one before, but I couldn't give them an answer. They said they'd still love to hear from me when I would consider a position, and now they are hearing from me. Hopefully the offer is still on the table! It should be as it's only a week or two later and they had a few positions to fill.

Either way, I won't be out of a job lol. I'm not really one to leave myself with no options.

I've been thinking dirty, dirty thoughts lately now that I will be home to enjoy things.

When I get home, I'm going to want something a little more fuel efficient than my M5 for communing to work (even though the job is hardly a 15 minute drive from home). I guess it is just an excuse to buy something else lol. I'm thinking of adding a 951 to the stable... It'd be at least a little more fuel efficient, fun, and I've never owned a coupe before. It would also be great as a track weapon. I almost bought one once, and wished I'd gotten it ever since. If the stock engine ever blew up, there are plenty of good swap options :)

OR

I could buy a nice little boat shell (think Donzi sweet 16) and swap my ABZ into it.

One last thing, I might... just might, be able to scheme my way into making it to Carlisle this year if I do some fancy quitting finagling.

See! Dirty, dirty thoughts. :hide:

Craziness that it was registered on a richter scale 400 miles away! I think I would have laid a goose egg if I saw it that close up.
