I've got a line on an axle from Tim, but I might need one sooner...or at least for when the pass. side breaks.

Where can one buy one new? Either whole axle or a kit for the CV I don't care. ORRRR What other axles will work? There is a 100 at the jy.

Chris, is there anything wrong with your outer CV right now other than a boot? Boot kits are still available for the 200q20v, but new axles and CV's are getting harder to find, as they were only used on the 200q20v and 5spd V8q. Not a big market....

edit:

The auto V8q I thought someone said uses the same outer CV as the 200q20v...

Yeah, it clicks and its gotten worse every day. I took the wheel off tonight and looked at all of the suspension components and everything looks fine except for the ripped to pieces CV boot. I noticed there was no grease on the inside of the wheel (there used to be) meaning there is essentially no grease for the CV so thats definitely the problem.

Its good to know that its made for the V8Q too though...thanks for that. Maybe that will expand my possibilities.

Hopefully I can save the other (passenger, outer) CV if I get a new boot for it and grease it up. I don't want to go looking for another one :(

On another note, I took the bumper off to address the black support bar that goes between the frame rails on the stock car. Its the one that the snub mounts to. I had to remove it to fit the intercooler. I was thinking I should probably try to get it to fit again. It would seem to keep the two rails more rigidly attached to each other :slap: I found that if I turn it upside down and flip it, it should fit when I cut the snub mount bracket off. Will try it tomorrow.

Thanks bud.

So I called Advanced Discount Auto parts who I usually hate, but they apparently have an entire axle assembly for the 200 20v for like $70. Its reman of course, but hell yeah I don't care!

OK I'm hearing (reading) horror stories about the FENCO crap that Advanced Discount sells. I'm not willing to put up with that. The search is on again!

if its for sure good and the boots aren't torn then lets just do it. I'm tired of wasting my time on a goddamned axle lol.

01E would be so much easier...

After this I might pay Raxles a visit since they are in Gainesville which is where I go to school. They said they don't make axles for our cars last time I called, but maybe I can get them to make something custom...then we'd have a source for some of the best axles period. Who'd be interested in that? If not full axles, then maybe at least a good source for some CVs.

Finally hit boost cut tonight. I dunno why. Maybe because it was a little bit cooler out than normal (less hot really), and I pretty much stabbed it at around 4k or 4500. Holy poop this turbo is going to be aggressive! I think I might have hit 8psi before the ECU "caught" the error. It felt strong even with 1 or 2 more psi than normal lol. Sounded mean too. I thought it was a misfire at first but then realized it was boost cut once it registered that I made more than normal.

Also I fit that air filter a few days ago. Didn't really fit...but I think its the only thing that will even be close out there other than a screen. I had to bash it in a little to get it to work lol. Not bad for $15 shipped and got here in 2 days from California!

The highlight of my week though was riding in an S50B32 M3...freakin awesome!!! Not a swap. More of a gray market car. One of only a few in the states. Power was very nice (I think rated at 321 stock). European M3 suspensions are impressive too! Quite stiff for stock. My dad always talks about the ITB version of the M3 engine, so he'll be very jealous when I tell him about it tomorrow :D

oh yeah, injectors are getting here Monday.

I'd take pics of some of the new stuff, but I just sold my D80...sad really :( BUT it was to help pay for a D90 which has HD video. You guys will benefit from that... ;)

Right, please make an HD vid of your ride when you are stepping on it.
Next step, post on YT.
