and as we discussed, these were the plans for my chassis that we expanded on. again, this chassis is good to better than 7.49 seconds. so basically whatever i can muster out of it i will be legal for.
notice the bars and structural work included in the kit. and then compare to the work i have done, building much more strength and support into the chassis.

then mine. we took what they made, and made many modifications to it. dual rails, upper rear Pro-Mod halo, etc. many X-braced sections. on and on.

The prints for the original cage look pretty complete but after looking at what you guys have done it's clear you've taken it to another level - nice work.

thank you.... yes, it is a step or two beyond the minimum requirements for that level. lots more X-bracing and structural modifications to be sure.....
the best part is the fact that i have been fortunate enough to have been able to do all of this work myself, sans welding. i CAN tig weld some, but i do not feel comfortable with this stuff. and i get to learn while i do, as well as save money on the fabrication side of things.

i forgot the first pic in this series. setting up the 40" tub templates. these were what we used when we set up the location of the rear diff in relation to the body and wheel openings, as well as the level of the Promod style rear halo. i didnt want the tub to come up into the window area if i could help it, and thus we have the top of the tub pretty much flush with the window rubber. which also set the height of the rear halo, etc.

You know your tires are big when you don't want to see them through the windows

Livin large! Nice rear bumper, any plans to make more? If so I might be interested if you are running a batch. It would be perfect for a spare on my setup, and much easier to flare out than dealing with another plastic bumper should/when mine gets damaged.

Is the tin going to be riveted down? Or welded?
Great work all around! Looks like fun, in a twisted kind of way

tin is all aluminum. it gets bolted with 6-32's or Dzus fastened. the driver foot well, tunnel side, and underseat is all steel per requirements and it is welded in. all else is removable.

You required to firecaulk all the seams too? or is there an alternative for the removable panels? I'd love to see some close ups of the rear 1/4 tin (the vertical panels in front of the wheel well, I've got to do mine at some point)
I'm currently using aluminum tape to fill the gaps as technically it fits the rules... but it's janky as hell. i should really do a full filler panel.

i put some pix up today actually......
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1770done with tin work. moved the front wheel arches forward in the fenders to accommodate the wheelbase changes.
now working on making steel fenders, FG (shit copy) RS2 front bumper, and CF hood (from Christian/034 CQ race car) all work and stay together as a one pc front end with hood removable.
i dont really keep up anymore with this stuff as it takes up time that is better spent otherwise. i do have this thread that i post pictures up from time to time (so i can copy them to another forum not on Tapatalk), and they are not all inclusive of car stuff. i do so much more than just car shit.
