When's the next event? I have an itch to fly out, rent something decent and drive some new track out there.

Do it! Spring Mtn April 13th-15th. I am sure you can find something "decent" to rent in Vegas :)

THey could not have picked a worse week for me. It is the week of finals, the Saturday before I graduate, and the week before my sister gets married. Maybe Peter can pilot my URQ that weekend in Vegas...

I like the way you think, Hank, but I'm not sure I can handle all that boost :P

...That and Ginster always looks kinda funny in pictures. Some angles of my car look great in pics, then in reality it is pretty faded out, the guys at work tell me it looks like a highlighter. :D

Looks really good man! Your car is very inspiring...

S4 skirts really complete the widebody too, it is very B5 RS4ish.

I'll get the front mocked up for everyone in the next couple of days, maybe tonight. First I have a few runs I need to sand down. I saw this trick on youtube, glaze over the runs, then block sand with 400, 1000, 1500 and rubbing compound. It works awesome! Similar to using a guide coat, but this keeps t from ghosting and burning through the surrounding clear while getting busy with the 400.

Here we go, start to finish pics

It all started when the urs4 fenders arrived

Image

Small preview of the work ahead

Image

The wheels I want to eventually run under the b4 front fenders

Image

The section that needs to come out

Image
Image

The 275/40 17 tires on 9.5" enkei rpf1 wheels, et 38

Image

B5 S4 side skirts, they are the correct length

Image
Image

Brackets I made and the Velcro strips from the donor car glued on with polyurethane glue

Image

Mock up looks good! They are held in place with self tapping screws

Image

Test fit of the S2 rear bumper that I am using as a base. This one is from a coupe, the sedan would have been easier, but to hard to find

Image

Time to dive into the rears!

Image

Making the transition by the door in the rear

Image

All welded up!

Image

The rear fender liners

Image

Game on, time for paint on the rears! Notice the 034 billet control arms to re-center the wheel in the arch more towards the rear.

Image

2k primer

Image

Image

Rears are all painted, and starting on the rear and front bumpers

Image

Image

Image

Here is a pic of the car with the same wheels before all of the bodywork started. These are 235/40-17's and it is rub city even with mostly worn tires

Image

And after:)

Image

Enjoy, I sure am!

Image

Image

The future street wheels

Image

Image

Finally the flares on the ocho have some company!

Image

I am going to spray the rest of the car this summer if I can find a nice gap between events.

seriously good work man. I'm not at all a fan of wide bodies, but thats subtle and looks the way it should have from the factory. great job. are you gonna paint the rest of the car?

Rob, you took the words right out of my mouth. If you didn't know what the car looked like stock, you'd think that came right from the factory. AWESOME work Jim!
