Urs front hub with an E36 wheel bearing. Had to take about 3mm off the knuckle in a cone shaped angle. it’s definitely a really tight fit

Almost waiting on a T fitting to finish the engine oil cooler lines. I was bleeding the brakes when the master decided to go out. Glad it did at home. It is original. Also rear sway bar end links and a DIY alignment so I can get it to an alignment rack. But that doesn’t keep it from moving on its own. The last thing is to tune the VEMS. I’m all the way down in south Florida so I’m hoping Marc can help remote tune it at some point. No idea what that entails.

I figured out a simple way to strengthen the push rod on the clutch master. I just stacked up nuts and grinded one down to meet the necessary adjustment

It started misfiring pretty bad. It has Amazon coils. So I ordered Okada coils for the ttrs in hopes that it stops the issue. I also previously relayed the coils with a 50A/30A relay. It was getting pretty warm so I ordered a 70A replacement. When everything gets here we’ll see if the problem goes away and we can finish tuning it. I got the hood on. Had to drill holes in it for the exhaust. Fortunately I have a new one in Delaware.

The new coils solved the issue only it lost a lot of compression due to piston ring failure. I finally am able to start removal and disassembly of the entire engine this time.

After starting it for the first time the second time around. Had a loose oil cooler hose and a leaky freeze plug. They are now fixed. Gotta get a plate and registration and I should also hook up the electric power steering pump. Not sure if that affects tuning. It is more of a load on the engine. I’m going to idle it more to make sure it’s ready as much as I can.

Everything is great 100 or so miles later. I needed a vacation from it. It turned into an obsession again and now I can relax. It’s back to it now.
First is the power steering doesn’t work. I used a mini cooper electric pump that’s not coming on.
Just ordered one today. This weekend I’ll finally be able to really drive it

Haha. It’s been a 18 year long project. It’s hard to believe myself. So long my mind still doesn’t register that it’s available to use

Hello again. It’s been a long time. I decided to keep it. Too sentimental. The piston rings went. I’m going to be able to get a short block from Marc in about 6 months. Now that I know which turbine housing I’m going to use I can make the exhaust and intake as well.

I pushed her back into the garage on the first. Happy new year everyone. for the third time around. This time I’m getting a short block professionally built. Didn’t have much luck the first two times. I’ve gotta make the intake and exhaust first so we can tune it properly. The intake tubing was easy. The down pipe on the other hand won’t be. I’m using 2 1/2” schedule 10 304ss pipe.
