The car drives great. It doesn't feel as fast, but the speedo is moving much money re quickly. Nice and linear. Kudos to Marc...more area under the curve with less boost and less revs. I left his place at midnight, drove through the night and got to work at 750am. We opened at 8. When I get off tonight I'm going to crash. I'll update more when I wake up. 27 hours since I left Obis place (thanks for the hospitality bro!), a full day with Marc, 500 mile drive, then a full work shift with no sleep...ugh.

Whoa, that's dedication. Great to hear you're happy! Looking forward a final graph.

After we had just put VEMS on dad's car when he had the T04E, boost was at 24 psi. When we met up with Marc in Montreal for F1 he tuned it to 27 psi (this was years ago before I was comfortable tuning). I'm sure he leaned it out a little as well, but even though it was much faster it FELT slower because the boost onset took longer for that extra 3psi and it was way way smoother and more linear.

That was a fun setup. Full boost somewhere in the 3500 range and pulled forever.

When forever meant about 6800rpm... I remember those days with my t04e/Vems setup too... Rob and I were talking about how much more fun those setups were for Dailying

I did say that...but I was wrong. Well, not wrong exactly, just not aware of what right was. The current setup is way more fun to daily than my 3071 ever was. The car is just as quick in the low/mid range, but much quicker up top. Wait till you're tuned and you'll agree.

Trouble is, this shit is like crack and I'm hooked. It hasn't even been a week and I'm already wanting more. If the last tune was at 26psi and 7800rpm, why stop at 23psi and 7200rpm? I'll be back for more as soon as I can work it out.

Marc also said that based on this session the turbo would have no trouble flowing 600whp with the right fuel. I see corn juice in my future.

Just need more time on the dyno. If only you were on VEMS (have i said that before? lol). With such a free flowing exhaust you should be able to make good boost and earlier - I don't know if the graph a few posts back was final, but your boost levels off at 20psi and then slowly climbs from there. Even just changing the boost curve/control is going to change your numbers and the curves a lot. 425whp at 23 psi is great dude. Keep going!

That curve was final. More time is right on...that happened at about 9pm, or end of dyno day. At 4 or 5 pm Marcs boost button took a dump, so there was no more real time tuning. It was do a pull, burn a chip, do a pull, repeat. Really slowed things down.

As far as VEMS is concerned, hind sight is 20/20, but it may come in the future, if only for flex fuel capability.

the initial spool wont be any sooner (on the street maybe but with same settings on the dyno this is what it is). I would however be able to improve the curve between 4800 and 6500 to make the peak boost flatter. as Rob mentioned we ran out of time.

Regarding the flex fuel stuff, I'm on it, should have a motronic solution next month.

Can't wait for flex fuel...awesome.

On another note, you mentioned 7200rpm as max...was that just what you took it to on the dyno, or the limit? I only ask because today it revd out to the last red mark on the tach and didn't hit the limiter. I did it a few times just to be sure :drive:

Speaking of E85 and trips to your dyno, Marc, what's the E85 situation at your shop? Looks like best bet would be to fill around Boston (coming from Maryland) and maybe grab a couple cans at the same time to be safe unless you keep a couple drums on hand.

Rob, I want a ride! I need to come down and visit, life has been throwing a lot of curve balls of late. And be in touch before you head up to see Marc again, I want to tag along and get a couple runs in the 200 if possible.

Anybody considering e85 should invest in a 4 pack of VP 5 gallon jugs. Darin bought some and they are heaven sent. No more leaking, really fast fill rate, and they store well in a car thanks to a very square base and tall jug.

nothing very local, or I'd be running it in just about all my cars. There is a place on the way though. the I-90 rest stop in Charlton has it.

those are "ok". like you say, nice fill rate but I've had some leakage from some of them.

I have a couple of these. not nearly as fast a fill rate but a very leak-free design. also easy to control the flow rate:

its just where i had the dyno set to stop, from the previous guy that was on the dyno. you are free to keep going, I think I have your electronic limiter set at 8k.

Sweet...thanks. what do you consider to be the safe limit for hydro lift and stock oil pump? I've read that sustained above 8200 can cause problems.

7800 all day long. over 8 I recommend for drag strip only, certainly no circuit racing at those rpms with a stock oil pump IMO.

Yeah that's all I meant, that the tq would change as a result and then the power would too. The typical peak boost/tq curve isn't there is all. Again... time on the dyno :)
