Oh man, after my ride last year I can't imagine what it is going to be like after this revision! Here's hoping to see it at Carlisle again, as usual nice work Nick :)

I plan to print the brackets in Nylon as it's has an extremely high resistance to chemicals/fuels and is very strong. I am new to 3D printing and just got my hands on one yesterday, so it'll be a learning process.

Yup. Like mentioned above, Nylon is my first choice followed by polyethylene.

chaloux wrote:Why no qsv? C'mon bro, that things going to spool at like 6500rpm

I was under the impression that QSV's are only applicable to twin scroll housings, no? I don't know a ton about them to be honest. I also don't see this turbo spooling that late. I'm thinking/hoping for ~5000. Remember my extremely short intake path, higher compression and cast manifold should help. We'll see.

Thanks man! Can't wait to see it come together.

I hoping to have it done well before Carlisle but it's hard to gauge time. It's kind of a waiting game at this point, lol.

Yes that's correct. Only one I could find was t4, and you're on t3 sq mani right? Dang.

Edit: below won't work, different turbine in the super 94, disregard.

One evo dyno. Not sure if 2l or 2.3l. Everything I can find is 6500 or higher (quick look on my phone).

Yeah, It doesn't look like the listed displacement. We'll see I guess. The I5 has more exhaust pulses and I'll be a 2.3L. I'm really hoping for spool between 5000 and 5500, still giving me some RPM to work with. I see that EVO is revving approximately to where I'll be going to as well.

I also notice that was in Colorado Springs, CO. Does elevation affect spool? Not sure... (again, not that it's an apples to apples here).

Some interesting info here: http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-dyno-t ... 44psi.html

Looks like some are seening 25psi around 4600rpm on a 2.4 EVO.

Nice! That looks promising then. Regardless it's going to be so sick. Plus even when making less boost you're going to be making a ton of power even though the dyno graph doesn't look like it. 300whp looks like nothing when the graph goes up to 700 :)

I found about a 400 RPM drop in spool when I moved from Colorado to California with my 35R. Elevation definitely has an impact on spool because when off boost, motor is effectively smaller displacement at altitude.

For some reference, I was getting 20 psi by 5000 RPM with my HX52 and stock 2.2l 3B. That was brake boosting, but it wasn't any later than 5500 RPM for 25psi when in 4th gear.

That should speak volumes for this 94 thingy. I expect 25psi by 5000 RPM in the higher gears. You'll really need to rev this thing to 8500 for it to be fun though. You're staying with hydro lifters right?

And across the board, pressure ratios must be higher for the same boost.

Thanks guys, that's basically what I had assumed.

I plan to rev it to that at the most. Obviously the factory oil pump gets pissed off any higher than that. I am staying hydro for now too.

I can't take credit for this work and I also don't know how much work was done. This is being handled by Jeff at FRP.

They're going right to Jeff so I won't even see them until the whole head it back in my possession fully assembled, degreed and ready to bolt on.

Cams are in the US and are on their way to FRP. :)

Pending quote, the block may be off to Missouri to be machined/assembled by FRP as well.

Side note, I have put my current clutch up for sale and am just going to spring for a Tilton twin now. I listed it for sale in the for sale area.

Thanks Josh. I am very happy with his services thus far with the cylinder head porting. Communication is prompt and his knowledge/expertise with these engines is second to none.

Another small additions has been made. Added a few circuits to my VEMS. I should now have wheel-speed, ethanol content and an output for my secondary fuel pump.

Correct Shawn. I learned a lot from my MegaSquirt days. VEMS is nowhere near as friendly to modify or even find documentation but similar skills apply.

Definitely interested in the wheel speed and ethanol content. Mainly which sensors you used and the settings used.
I know this is listed in the vems wiki and other places but it'd be nice to hear it from someone where there isn't a language barrier and stuff doesn't get lost in translation. Or maybe that's just me?

Definitely can't wait for you to get this all together!

So I realized that my circuits were built incorrectly. Luckily before testing anything, not that it would have necessarily damaged anything.
