Yep, mine is old. No power. I put the micro usb from the power adaptor in the side and it starting blinking blue. Now what? How do I link my android device in the software?
It's also probable better to use +12v instead of connecting and disconnecting the mini usb. Yes?

you have to set it up as a bluetooth serial device. basically you just scan for nearby devices, it should find it. then you enter the password (I think its written on the little sheet that came with your adapter, usually 1234 or something). once thats done you can select that as your serial interface in the android app.

leave the mini-usb plugged into the adapter and power the other side of it via that adapter that shipped with your bluetooth dongle, yes.

Uh oh. And if I don't have a password? Is it the number on the side of the adapter?

did you feed it 5v on the serial cable in your harness? it needs either that or a voltage supply via that little side connector thing. it has a little light that should lite up inside if its getting power.
Yep. My devices were all new Bluetooth, these dongles are mostly the old version. I forget the versions.

try 1234 or 0000 ... I lost mine too... works everytime... the only thing with wireless connectivity is that I find it's a little slower to connect and it can lose connection if logging during crank up... Speaking of which, I really wanna get SD-Card logging feature going on this thing,...

Mine is up and running perfectly, though (this may sound weird) whenever I'm streaming data to my phone via BT my ecu has the tendency to get more signal noise in my trigger feed causing misfires.

I haven't had time to screw with it anymore. Though this may be a simple situation of correlation not being causation.
A letter to Darin...

Hey bud, how ya doing... just looking for some info since I know you've been through a few iteration (read: rebuilt motors) with your project...
How many rebuild have you gone through in total?
Were the causes of the failures all conclusive?
Were they before or after VEMS?
What fuel and injectors were used on each of the builds that broke?
Were they all dyno tuned and verified by a reputable tuner?
I tried to quickly read through what had happened in the picture below, but I was able to get something definitive out of it...
Thanks,
Ob

The pictures head gasket failure was lack of proper re-torqueing of the ARP head bolts. My other complete engine failure was lack of getting a proper tune by someone who knew what they were doing (read "I suck").
VEMS was never the cause of my failures.
None of my issues were caused by injectors, VEMS, or someone else.

Two years in a row now I've missed BBQ in Vegas. It's time to recommit. This weekend I replace the coolant reservior that had a pin hole leak in it. I also pulled the ABS unit to make room for the electric power steering pump.

Need to get to Vegas somehow to pick up my 2.6L stroker, drop off my head to get some work done to it, and pick up other parts I have down there.
Need to make this car fun again.

What kind of crank/rod/piston combo did you choose for the 2.6L stroker?

95.5 Euro block/Crank sourced by Iroz Motorsports, 8.5:1 JE pistons from Jim Green, 160mm DM Forged H-beams. Ok....so technically it's a 2.55L....but who wants to say that all the time.

Old power steering out, new electric pump in and plumbed. Just need to find switched 12v and it's good to go. It's nice to have the room up front and move the weight back. Might get rid of A/C.......might.

Might be some purists out there but I think most of them are in the BMW community. I ditched the AC on both my cars, but I saved all the parts so It can be re-installed if someone ever sees the need. I like the idea

I've always been an advocate for A/C. I always think it's worth the weight and extra complexity. I don't think it will really make any noticeable difference in handling or speed. It's not THAT heavy.
I'd be even more inclined to keep it on a black car with no window tint.
BUT, that's up to you. If you don't mind the heat, then go for it.
But either way, right on that you're doing stuff to it

I wish I had gotten AC installed onto my Coupe for the drive to BBQ. Even though it wasn't that hot, it certainly would've been nice to not have to deal with wind noise the whole time. I'd try and keep it.
