On the header it’s a shame to cover it up but you could do the coating if you really want to keep heat down. I’ve never actually used a temp gun to verify before/after temps to know how much difference it makes .
My engine bay is hot to matter what I do so I did not do the coating yet and figured I would do either a simple heat shield or or a sheet metal belly pan ducting the air out . I found that you can purchase nice dZus style fasteners and the little attaching points they use on B5 and newer for cheap. One of my next project if I ever get to it z

I totally agree on hiding the header under some type of coating, the downside is that it is 150-300 degrees cooler when measuring the header temp (past projects)... I’ve always used Jet Hot but I have heard very good things with Swain Tech as well.

I have all the S2 heat shield for the car including the belly pan so I will likely experiment with that when I’m mocking up stuff... holding off sending the header for coating because of the aesthetics.. on the other hand if I have a bunch of heat shield covering stuff it doesn’t matter...

I decided to not put the rear heat shield back on, put heat shield directly on the chassis instead.

Wasn’t happy with the rear cast suspension location so... Upgrade for the suspension setup. Had to open stuff and put a couple of things together before turkey!

Thanks, certainly wasn’t in the budget but... the pictures do not do the quality of work any justice.

Plan on doing One Lap of America with it when done, so hope all of the extras make a difference!!!

Started installing the rear suspension...

I'm really excited to hear how the suspension works/fits. I'm on the fence right now about ordering almost the same things from them! Was it a long turn around between ordering and recieving?

Albert was great, he quoted timing on everything I have purchased and either met it or delivered faster. Shipping prices were very reasonable, he must do quite a bit of shipping with UPS as he has very good rates.

The longest single item I have ordered was the axles, they were 4 weeks, depending on when you order he has some stuff in inventory.

Lots of adjustability in the suspension now so hopefully I can get it dialled in quickly, My car was very tight prior to all of this - Koni’s, HR springs and all of the bushings were in good shaped relatively speaking. I’m looking forward to the handling improvement.

Rear suspension installed, will work on the subframe orientation today as there is some adjustability in it (likely 1/2 an inch but that’s just a guess). Still deciding what points on chassis to measure from. Didn’t install the rear diff so that things are easier to move.

It really is in amazing shape but certainly had 27 years of grime. I really dislike getting filthy so... extra cleaning when it’s apart. I figured out the other day the only bolts that haven’t come off the car are the steering rack, doors, hatch and hood.

I don’t often go on about products or services unless they are truly exceptional.

I am redoing stuff that I degreased and pressure washed previously, for anyone that has not used the POR15 cleaner /degreaser once you try it you will never use anything else!!



And for break dust you will never use anything other than Sonax once you try it.

Working my way to re do the front end... hate re work, so slowed down as I was moving forward and started with the CAE shifter.

Video of it in a S2 on you tube but a couple of pictures in my car as well. If I wasn’t so lazy I would have put the drivers seat in, used a milk crate instead!!

So much to like! Lots of new stuff on the market too, since I was hoarding parts. Interested to see how the stuff from Albert works out, as I've been on the fence between his subframes and the ones from DM Development in the UK.

I’ll certainly update once I get it to move under it’s own power!! Quality of fabrication is very good.

Does that AK setup involve a rear sway bar or not needed ? I’m thinking about what I need to do to add one to my car now after getting on the road , just food for thought.

Yes it works with a rear sway bar set up. I haven’t put it back on yet, waiting to re install the rear end.
