Dam dude! Are you guys actually going to put that into a car? Or are you going to do some kind of tube chassis?

Mega project teaser: V8 twin turbo.

Nice :)

Redline will be 7500 for now despite the motor being built for more. We are limited by the stock cams hence the glass ceiling for HP at 800

Custom cams will be required to go any further.

Another video for your enjoyment. This is a sweep from 3.5K-6.5K to test the crossover of the dual fuel system from pump gas to race gas. Not full numbers here as it was still mid tune process (and to be honest we still dont have it 100% tuned so plenty left in the pipe)

31psi test pull

The BMW V8s of our vintage have bore issues. You start pushing them hard and they don't like it according to what I've read.

I woudlnt think about doing anything like this without having the block sleeved and building the bottom end. But... there are a few F/I M5's (which have thinner cylinder walls) that make over 600chp.

It was more of a theoretical/pipe dream question anyway. Its fairly easy to burn up 1st and into 2nd with the stock 300hp, even with the M5 diff. I plan on possibly doing alpina intake cams, headers and an early M62/M60 intake manifold and get it all tuned by a guy in maryland... I think 370hp/tq. is possible and I would be quite happy with that.

Sorry for the thread jack!

If you need the early M60B40 manifold, the junkyards where I live are overrun with them! That would be a great power gain if you could really achieve what you've mentioned.

I actually may turbo my M60B30 in partnership with my buddy with the turbo E30... I think that engine should take it well :)

I cant really hook you up with a fix, but I will give a little status update.

After they dyno we decided to tear the motor down to check for any issues as this is such a highly developed motor with a LOT of custom stuff going on. Well I am glad we did as we found evidence of some oil starvation on the front two intake cam bearing journals. So the motor is all torn down and we are A) getting new gearings and rings etc organized so it can go back together for real. We are also investigating the cause of the starvation, we have some good theories and are awaiting the proof in the form of oil analasys reports.

The rest of the car is coming together nicely and we should be done in March for some real testing :)

But I cant leave you with just text so heres a few pics to keep you going :P
