Depends

what color is it?

I wish it were silver to go along with my collection. I think I may just fix it up for my father to drive.

They are good cars if you have the patience to keep them maintained. I keep saying I need/want to sell the 5ktq wagon but then I take it for a drive and it would be very hard to find something that could replace it even a 200 20v wagon. Locker>torsen

i just have one small set of numbers to throw at you, for some AWIC tech info.
i ran yesterday, and i looked at the IATs and boost, etc. figured you might want to have a looksee at the temps and such.
here is what i got for IAT and boost.
this is starting temp in F, low point, end point, and boost, for each gear. 9.41 @ 167.31 mph.
just ice and water in a reservoir, no external heat exchanger. Rule 1100 bilge pump, 1100 GPH. 3" piping throughout.
1st - 68 down to 65.6 up to 66.2 with peak 29.73 psi / 305 kpa
2nd - 66.2 down to 63.5 up to 68 with peak 42 psi / 389.8 kpa
3rd - 68 down to 65.6 up to 73.58 with peak 46.7 psi / 422.2 kpa
4th - 73.58 down to 72.5 up to 78.7 with peak 46.47 psi / 420.4 kpa
thats all

just some data on AWIC.

I need moar ice and capacity, lol. More importantly, I need to resolve my spark issue.
Anyone have any ideas on the ignition stuff? I've been working with Marc and so far we're coming up with nothing. I mailed out most of my ignition system to him today for him to hopefully come up with something I've been overlooking. Anyone ever have these issues?

I've had the spark issue. It was plug wires every damned time. I spent many months trying to figure it out, even after getting brand new wires three times! Turned out the wires just sucked (even though they weren't remotely cheap). Since you just got new ones, I'd probably say that isn't it, but if you don't come up with anything else, it might be worth a shot to try some magnecors.

If it were that simple that'd be awesome. Maybe the Nology wires are throwing something off. Not sure. It's just odd that this came about all of a sudden. Unrelated, but it seemed to happen right as I added the 7A FPR. I thought as though the misfire was happening because of extra fuel that needed to be tuned out. Still, once tuned it it continued misfiring. Put it below 16psi and it's perfect.

I assume you changed out the plugs at some point in this diagnosis?

Of course. That was the first thing I did. Picked up a set of NGK 4554's and gapped down to the normal .022. Misfired still. Gapped to .020. No luck. Went back to 4644's. No good.
Plugs still wouldn't have an impact on the spark tester and the results there are poor too.

What coil setup? I'm assuming Marc told you to check grounds etc... Could be wires as Chris said.

Marc's LS2 coil setup. I checked the coil harness ground and 12v several times. All good. There are separate grounds to the coils from the ECU as well. I measured resistance between the two grounds which also turned up good.
I'm usually pretty good at solving crap like this but it's stumping me. I just hope to have it running correctly for H2O in a few weeks.

So, after hours of troubleshooting and a few packages back and forth to Marc....there's still no resolution to my coil issue. Marc tested my setup to be 100% functional on his test vehicle. He sent them back and I tested them laid out in the engine bay. Worked as it should, I couldn't believe it. Put everything back in it's position and boom, the issue was there again. NO IDEA.
Marc also sent me a set of FSI coils and harness to test, so as a last ditch effort I threw them in. Problem is gone now. I hate when things are unsolved like this but I am willing to let it go and just run COP. Marc mentioned that the FSI coils are a bit more resilient to electrical noise/interference (which is possibly where my issue lies). This gives me a nice space on my firewall to put a catch can now though. The COP setup packages nice and looks pretty boss too. LS2 setup is FS with my recently purchased (Brand new) plugs wires if anyone needs

Hmm, very interesting. Glad you fixed it! I had troubles of my own with this stuff... stupid, picky 20v's.

Stupid question
Did you try with your cellphone turned off ?
I saw an Ur some months ago, the car was perfect and they tested everything but the engine still had troubles after 4500rpm .. everytime the mechanic tried it, it was ok .. he had no cellphone .. what I'm trying to say is maybe you have a weak point around the motronic or else

That is VERY interesting. I never had a problem with my cell phone before. The issue kind of came out of nowhere. No motronic installed in my car either, it's VEMS.
