Well, it's nearly 1:30 am, we are spent and will conclude E85 tuning on the gtx 30r at 28 psi. Final numbers are 461whp/412tq. My car has been a thorn these past two days and I've consumed Hank's time like no other. More details post to come.

Nice work, now I'm eagerly awaiting the e85 numbers!
Is it too much to ask for the pump and corn graphs overlaid on one graph?

Wait, 461whp/412tq on pump... Sounded like it's an unfinished e85 number...

461whp on pump would be crazy. Especially if they have 91 octane. Still even on e85 461whp is 461whp, must be a kick in the ass to drive! Nice job fellas.

damn. Almost tempting enough to make me want to convert to a 20v

In October I left the car at Hank's shop after BBQ4. I had disassembled everything for the most part when I left it. Hank replaced the piston in #5, honed, etc, also fixed some stripped oil pan threads, upgraded to titanium retainers and high rate valve springs and reassembled.
I arrived at about 2 p.m. on Friday and began buttoning up the rest of the front end. Alternator, PS pump, A/C condenser, intercooler etc. Issues crept into the picture constantly. Oil pressure didn't seem to want to feed oil to the turbo. Wouldn't start because the distributor was off. Coolant fan wouldn't kick on because I thought VEMS controlled it.

It doesn't on mine. At 3 a.m. we called it a day/night. On Saturday morning we replaced the switch on the bottom of the radiator and walla, fans. Put it on the dyno and ran it with break in oil. Drained oil. Started tuning. Going from 660cc injectors to 1600cc for E85 so lots of fueling changes. Rough, rough starting issues. I was fairly certain the timing was zero'd out but we put a light to it and found it was about 10 degrees off. Stuck E85 in the tank and started tuning. (This was after an all day affair of various other issues and hard starting etc.) We tuned on E85 from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m. or so. Here is the only pull I video'd:

The final/final E85 pull we did was 470whp/423tq on the GTX30R. The Greddy boost controller was at about 92% duty cycle, putting me at about 30-31 psi on the final pull. In other words, we were reaching the end of the 30R's capabilities. No water meth injection.
91 Octane is crap. It's worse than crap. We gave up for so many reasons. The biggest however was after hard pulls on either fuel and on decel, the car was smoking bad. Not right after throttle release, but as the RPMS dropped completely off. We doubt it's rings since compression results were 155+ across the board. Valve stems were done 2k miles ago and a leak down was done on the head. So we think it's the turbo seals.
The plan was to drive the car home, but that wasn't happening with the smoking issue. So a lot of ups and downs the past couple of days. The up is that I set Hank's dyno record at 470whp. The down is that there is something wrong.
Hank is a busy, busy guy. Probably the best welder and most in demand welder around. I know many of you and others have orders in and need stuff. I occupied way too much of his time and I appreciate it. I can't wait to see the bill for all his work!

Trust me though, he is working on everything as fast as he can. Thanks a million again Hank for your help.
Maybe a 35R is next.

Oh, and I didn't even get to take it for a drive on 470whp.

Damn..very sorry to hear that. On the other hand, I'd be pretty happy with 470whp on a 30r
You mentioned you had initial issues With the feed pressure going to the turbo...do you think that could have played a part in possibly letting the turbo seal go?

That was only while priming the engine. Just starter cranking.

Is this with an OG GTX30R, or one of Hank's billet creations?

Good luck getting any turbo to survive with 915C EGT's.... 10 degree's of ECU retard across the board due to incorrect Zero'ed TDC can play hell on turbo.
Overall, I'll dig into it shortly, but high on my list are the rear seal, possibly the FIC1600s, or maybe a crankcase vent. I did another comp test this morning and we are sitting at 165 across all 5. No issues there.
Good power on e85. This is compared to my Dad's identical 2.2L on e85 with a .82 HTA3076r. Boost pressure is 25psi vs 31psi for the gtx3076r, my creation.

Wow. Have any 25psi direct comparisons?

its fun that you have the record on the dyno for now. that is, until he dyno's the blue pill. those numbers will make many cry. "Edit" weep tears of respect.

I should have some 25psi graphs on the dyno computer... My dad's 3076r car has the restrictive urq intercooler and longer intake path with the poor flowing 3b intake manifold.
If I don't have a 25psi graph I will have it back on this week sometime.

Don't be jealous of my 470whp Dave. Besides, Sean's car will never leave his garage. It's the queen.
