Cigarette lighter launch control bros FTW! Just don't accidently touch the center contact (12v)... lol. Matt may or may not have done that in my 200 while I was away and it fried a chip in the VEMS making launch control permanently on, lolz!

I guess I'll just take my 425 whp 20v and put your 20v wankers to shame

lols all around.

Intercooler FINALLY shipped, hope I can have it by the end of the week. Then it's time for MOAR TIMING (by way of less reduction due to being further to the left in the MAT/ ign retard table)

Ugh.

I really need to do something about this breather issue. It's either extremely inadequate now that I'm making decent boost/power, or I have bad blow-by. I'm going to do a stationary test with launch control and see what happens in the engine bay. I can't tell if it's because of cornering or powa. I don't really want to get out the leak down tester and find bad news... sigh...

IC should arrive up tomorrow, so I'll have that to distract me at least.

No logs, going to require a little more massaging to get it in......

Happy to report that with despite a 7 degree rise in ambient temps, between the new IC and dropping my air filter down low, I've dropped my intake temps by 18 degrees. From 73 to 56. That was with a slightly heatsoaked IC, I didn't get them that high again. Just a simple 3rd gear pull. Graph coming soon.

I also need to empty my catch can. Time for a drain and some mods to the valve cover.

Okay, unfortunately not an apples to apples comparison as the CXRacing run appears to be in 4th. But it also goes from 4k to 6500 rpm, whereas the treadstone is 3k to 7500rpm. You'll also notice the lower initial temp with the cxracing. First up is the log I just took - boost vs MAT

Next up we have the "comparo". The other thing you can't see is the huge increase in timing, and the extra fuel I had to give it because intake temps were so much lower. It went from being a solid .72 lambda to .81, just from MAT decrease. Holy balls. I just added a little to make it a sweet .79-.8. I'd say with the extra 6 degrees + of timing and cooler charge air I had to pick up a few ponies...

Edit: I'll have to get a 4th gear log. And sorry about the graphs, on the netbook and tried using google sheets. Pretty hilarious but decent I guess...

Oh and one last thing. Since I was relocating my air filter, I had to rotate my BOV 90*. It's hose is now pointing down instead of horizontally, with the BOV outlet facing the rear of the car. THis gave me enough room for the air filter to go in its spot. I also had to add a new line, which is slightly larger than the old line. Now, instead of going PSSSH! when shifting/lifting, it sounds more like a turkey like the S1/S2. I also noticed my boost is way way smoother and doesn't oscillate. I wonder if it has anything to do with it or if it's all down to the IC. Regardless, AWESOME.

Which IC is that?

I'm looking at the TRV1859B myself...

It's the trv185. There's no way a9" core would fit, although that would have been awesome.

Hmmm, I'll have to keep that in mind. Been tough finding decent figures as to what will and won't fit.

You are not running a 4kq are you?

Also, the end tanks for vertical flow take up about 4" of height (but arguably allow for better cooling).

No, this is for my Cq build.

But I see they're both rated for the same HP and Matt's IC is smaller so would have smaller pressure drop.

You may be able to get 9" in a CQ. I'm not sure about their hp estimates, the "TRV25" is 1000 and the TRV259 is "1300" so you'd think they'd have claimed an increase for the TRV189 :idunno:

Yeah it's weird that they do that...

I now know why I'm having oil blow out the catch can vent. Here's a side view cutaway of the catch can:

Basically the vent tube drops way down, into oil if you don't have a drain setup. I'm putting a drain in today and the problem should be gone. It only happens once there's enough oil in the catch can. I'm sick of marking my territory! lol

Done! So far so good. But that's just a few launches and a couple 2-3 gear pulls. I'd say I probably picked up about 50hp on the mid-high range with the intercooler. I was also a dolt and only realized once the car was overheating and turned off that I had forgot to plug the rad fan back in. Thankfully I had a jug of coolant. I also think the cops were called on me because of the launch control.

Must. Not. Shit. Where. I eat.

My very long term list is now as follows: seats, steering wheel, wheel arches and wheels to fit, 01e, new aluminum rad, brakes, paint job. When engine blows, full Iroz big turbo 07k treatment

Well I'm happy to report that with the drain on the catch can I have 0 oil spraying in my engine bay. Effin love it. I have also started to very slowly increase timing. I'm up to 1 degree less than Marc's base map above 100kpa, and using a less aggressive timing retardation map at 50*and under. Pulling 0* at 40c, 1.5* at 50c, and 3*+ after that.

I'm also going to work on my spool a little more, I removed a bunch of fuel down low as it was just TOO rich. I may go through and set my WG spring again as well just to be sure it's all right.
