Clutch shipped friday, so if all goes well by this coming friday I will be on the road.

Then it's time to test and tune!

Finally registered this morning. Now to get the front suspension finished, get an alignment, make sure it still runs with brakes and clutch.

probably a good idea. I still have to find a place to camp out. Can't afford the hotel this year.

Chris camped somewhere last year, but I think it was 30-45min away.

If anyone needs anything hauled to/from Vegas from Seattle (via Reno), let me know. I'll be rocking the Touareg so I'll have plenty of room.

I'm looking to camp Sunday night, possibly even Sat depending on how late my last flight gets done on Sat. Let me know if you figure a good camping option.

I haven't heard much from Chris lately but he camped up at Mt Charleston last year. There were some pretty severe fires up there this summer so Im not sure how that has affected the camping areas.
registrations are still rolling in guys, don't be shy - lots of new faces this year!

This year is seriously going to be Epic! 01E goes in tomorrow.

Then it's test drive time! Nothing like leaving 3-4 days to work out bugs.

I decided to plug my "found nothing wrong with it" ECU back in to see if my crank trigger problems were still there...and they're gone again! Registers a solid 59 again. I'm still driving the Touareg though

But it gives me hope for getting it back on the road sooner once I get back from the BBQ.

I'm making some last minute exhaust adjustments to keep it together for the drive down. Can't wait!

Been driving for the last couple days. No major issues other than one dealing with vacuum which will make for an annoying drive if I don't get it sorted before Thursday(after that, I have no time).
Can't wait for this!

meh on all of you. I need to adjust the hight of the engine as its sitting on the subframe. I need to replace the bracket attaching the tie rods to the rack & pinion as it has lateral movement. steering wheel changes positions as I drive. And, my oil burning issue is not gone. well, I guess since I redid the top end the rings are the problem after all. ill deal with that after BBQ to keep it going down with me this time.
ok, ok so that's not really that much worse of a list. its pretty simple actually.

See you all at BBQ this weekend.

Got the exhaust buttoned up. Installed the new QTP electric exhaust cut out because my old one wasn't closing and rattling a bit. Sounds great.
Just a reminder for all those who want to help take my car apart. My plan is to get to Hank's shop EARLY Sunday morning, get the engine out and disassembled as quickly as possible. The more willing hands the better.

if we hooked up a few cars with chains to the right parts, hood, bumper, then a few more to the engine, we could have that engine out in no time at all.

I just went and took the car out for a short blast during lunch, I can only hope it runs this well for the whole BBQ event.
