OK got home ok… missed all the traffic (Phew) Also had the heat full blast, what a lovely ride that was with it being 96* out.

Going to wait for the car to cool down and pull out the fan and shrouding ( I Guess they have to come out together? ) my other plan is to remove the thermostat until the new part comes in… looks like I can simply take it out without too much issue.

Ok - been hitching rides with the lady having a radio and A/C are not over rated. Haha!

Anyway still waiting on a fan to come through, have a couple leads but have got turned away 4 times after trying to purchase new… Hmph.

Good news - HPR mounts came in, but if you keep operating like this and can branch into some more main stream cars you're going to make a damn killing dude. Shipping/package/communication/Quality is impeccable and even the lady commented on what a nice purchase it was (Uhh what?)

Can't wait to get a nice new fan and get back on the road with these installed. ok enough talk here are some cute pics

Yoda - Just saw your post thanks for the info on the rebuild I will be doing that for the unit I take out. Luckily our friendly dude MHC sent me his 20v radiator and shrouding, I have been going to work early and coming home a little late to avoid traffic as the bottom left shrouding bolt is completely rounded from a previous radiator job it looks. I have broken 2 hacksaw blades, and am just crying for a airsaw haha!

Still need to put in the mounts too, what a lazy asshole.

I haven't been in for a while, I have a good 7 blade fan with shroud from my car. I went to a different radiator and fans. Let me know if you need it

I would be in need if your radiator is the OEM 3B with the secondary radiator hose provisions.

Hi All -

So while everyone is out making nuts whp, I am trying to fix my radiator fan in my spare time in a parking garage (hah!)

I finally hacksaw'd through the last awful bolt, and went to pull the shrouding out when I realized WTF! It won't slide out. I have no idea how to finagle this out does the Radiator HAVE to come out with the shrouding?

I got the fan shroud out separate of the radiator. Luckily I only had one nut go nuts on me and was able to wrench it out.

Shroud definitely came out on its own though.

I'm not certain if the rad has to be removed or not. I was able to remove the shroud back when I had the 20v in mine, but the Intake mani isn't in the way with a 20v. I have not tried to remove the shroud yet with the 20v. It's all a pretty tight fit in there. I wouldn't be too surprised if it all had to come out as one due to space constraints.

Bunk... I have done many of these w/o pulling the entire rad assembly...Take the top brace off the rad, and the bottom mounting nut, so that it can move around...Unbolt the coolant tank and set aside..If the car has abs, it makes life easier to loosen the nuts on it so it can be moved a little as well..Unbolt the rad fan shroud and jiggle everything around to work it out..Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly(duh LOL)..PM me if you have :? 's

I just know if I take the rad out - it is going to come out in a bunch of plastic pieces HAH.

Shroud on my 20v is 4x nuts 2 top 2 bottom and it comes free. Should come straight out without pulling rad, I'd remove the top rad mount so you can shift the top foreword to give yourself more room but it should come out pretty easy.

^2nd. Mine took about 10minutes, some grunting, and a few curse words and came right out!

My fan shrouding is all the way in the fender it looks… Like literally it is too wide to come straight up and out. If I were to lift it out it the inner fender or motor would have to move? that is where I'm lost….

If you have all the bolts loose you should be able to rotate it and just pull it right out. Some flexing needed for the intake manifold of course.

Same procedure works for the radiator too. It very tight, but do-able.

No problems to report other than ragging on it daily and using too much fuel.

Finally put in the HPR Transmission mounts, all I can say is....


My god.

I had expected there to be an improvement in rigidness, but cornering with this car over 100mph instills a HUGE amount of confidence now... I simply am blown away by how well these two little mounts have really tied my entire chassis together. My mounts were stock (130k) miles and were completely shot.

If you have not replaced yours, it really should be the next thing you buy and I am not exaggerating in the least bit.


Also took a fun video of a launch, 0-40 ~2 seconds or 0-30 in 1.5 seconds I've been trying to find some McLaren F1's to run 0-30 for pinks but no dice yet. (This was the first time the car had been completely cleaned of tools and jacks and random heavy things.)

I agree with the HPR mounts. After putting the engine and transmission mounts in the rigidness was an incredible difference. I could feel the car a lot better while driving.

Now what you need to do is do coilovers on custom shortened and valved bilsteins w/ #550 front and #650 rear springs with 'stretched' 235/40/18 tires on 9.5" wide wheels. My land whale will take corners twice as fast now and handles soooo much better.

What valving did you go with?

TBH, I just sent them out with the instructions to shorten the front 1" and to re-valve the front to match my spring rates on a 3700lb car.

Yes that is correct. All 4 re-valved.

Re-valve would be sweet, 235 tires would be sweet too! So many things could help the handling for next summer, but I am excited to have the winter come to get some more use out of these 195 Nokians

I'm pretty ecstatic however with the Koni's I think I have found a nice set up for the 200, which is basically 60% shock stiffness in the rear with about 15-25% in the front, the understeer is pretty non existent (more apparent in the rain).

Hopefully 2015 will be a good year for me so I can start making some obtainable dreams come true

Aktapod if I had one other recommendation to get rid of the floating feeling, it would be to change your inner and outer sway bar bushings it helped a huge amount as well.
