Small update, I didn't unbolt the roll bar before the track event because I knew it would not line up right again at the towers after welding. The joints require a perfect alignment and sure enough, everything had shrunk about 2mm after welding.
I had been wanting to add a strut bar to the rear, so I did this before hacking apart the roll bar mounts and re-welding them. I was kind of hoping it would be able to adjust the strut mounts enough to get the roll bar back into place without stressing anything too much. It turns out, it worked perfect, it pulls the mounts together 2mm just by lightly turning the bar in by hand. It's almost scary how easy they are to move..
The nice thing is that I made the strut bar from spare parts I had accumulated over the years from messing with steering control rods.
