one of the stud holes on the right bank toward the rear had semi-buggered threads though, I chased them and the stud is in but I'm not hugely happy with how it felt going in. Fingers crossed it holds the torque...

Now would be the time to put a helicoil or Timesert in. Big PIA later. Better safe than sorry...

odd thing about that... the closest tap I could find was 12x1.5. The thread pitch looks right but the bolt just feels 'loose' for instance running the stud through a die. Certainly not SAE and 10 is way too small. Just my imagination? Can anyone confirm that the holes are M12X1.5 ?

You're right though, I should helicoil.
ETKA should say, I would check but I don't have it here.
Nice stocking stuffer! Many of us could save hours with one of these for sure!
Pretty cool tool I hate bringing a bolt to the local Napa and asking the thread pitch and the guy gets off his stool like it is a HUGE chore
Marc, how did it feel coming out? Was it funky or did it come out fine? Basically you are saying that the bolt feels a tiny bit too small for the threaded hole? If you are going to do a helicoil, now is the time.

according to Tacoma Screw it's a M11. i got one from them. 8 bucks. Took down the head bolt. took a bit to figure out.
11mm helicoil installed so all is well there. Went to go fit my headgaskets and realized my sealed victor reinz gasket set has two right headgaskets in the kit :curses:

Sigh.
aren't you stacking gaskets anyway? Just get two left ones
Weird.....just t did a quick check of the etka, and it show them being the same left to right for the pt, but two separate numbers for the abh. Any idea what is different Mark? Pics?
