Cleaned but still disorganized, that's stuff to do while I'm baking parts:

I ended up having to leave it here because I was on my own at the shop again, which is alright because it gives me an abundance of room to work on the engine

Then, a couple hours, a ton of degreaser, a little wooden wire brush, two knuckles and about 4 pressure washings later:

I've never actually cleaned a bay like this in one of my cars and I must say this will now be the FIRST thing I do on every project

Then moved on to breaking down the engine and ancillaries for cleaning/paint/coating. On the K26, there is oil in the intake ports and in the downpipe, but not in the exhaust manifold. I thought when they went they just blew oil out the turbines? Mine seems to have been losing oil through both sides? Possible?
Offending turbo:

I think I'm going to stop short of taking apart the alternator to do the casing but anything on the motor that can, will be powdercoated because it's next to free. I'm going with a gray(ish) theme, the block is going to be about the same color as the valve cover and most everything will be some form of flat/semigloss/gloss black or gray/silver. Except the compressor housing on the new turbo, that's going to be a little loud

As always, thank you for reading, knowing there's people following along is good inspiration to stay off my lazy butt
