Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Wheel suggestions?
IIRC, WedSport have made some full carbon fiber rims. Only about 2500 a pop.

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Wheel suggestions?
I have been looking into stated value car insurance and I might have to do the unthinkable and add up what I have spent on this car for an appraisal. If I die from a heart attack, it was good knowing you guys!
So far Grundy is in the lead, for around $300 per year that gets me $25k in coverage and covers me while I am at "car shows". Anyone else have good advice? I need to look into hagerty a little more they were coming out really expensive.

I actually have a 10k stated policy with Safeco for about that price as well. In other words, I think that is a pretty good deal.

Funny we are talking about htis. I just pulled a 30k policy on my URQ today with hagerty. The URQ I have a couple of big tickets, but it was about 600 a year. Vegas is worse than California for rates though. My problem was somebody that would insure a grey market 81 model URQ. Hargerty was the only one.
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Wheel suggestions?
Chubb Insurance. I heard them on Carcast a while back and mentally bookmarked them as an option.

Hank,
Yours is gray market? What are the differences?

Grey just means it wasn't a US car to begin with. You get the Euro bumpers without the provisions for the bumper shocks, the frame doesn't run through the trunk like the USA models, mine is a factory no AC, which is unlike most US models, ect. Mostly it is just a pain in the arse to register and insure.
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Wheel suggestions?
Just wanted to say I want to see more video of your car. Like what it sounds like from the outside.
That's all

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Newish Exhaust
I started working on a new exhaust with a dual 2.5" exhaust. The goal is to have a cat on one side and an open dump on the other.
My initial thought was to use a valve from a Dynomax VT muffler, but the valve does not seal enough to really cut down the noise. Next step is to figure out which cutout valve I want to go with. I am going to test initially with manual electric to get some logs, but will eventually convert it over to a wastegate actuated valve.
Anyone have better luck with one vendor over the other? It seems like QTP and Road Race Engineering are the higher quality valves, but JEGS and Summit offer some that might fit the bill for what I am building since longevity of the motor is not a concern for me.
With the open side of the exhaust completely blocked, the sound is fantastic, the 2.5" center section eliminates the drone completely, and it still goes into a 3" section over the axle with two Borla XR-1 strait through mufflers.
With the dump open, it's intoxicating

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Newish Exhaust
I'm not sure what brand my dump valve is, but I definitely recommend a good one. Mine might be wearing out a bit because the motor won't stay completely closed. If I hold the switch down in my car it does, but as soon as I let off it cracks open and rattles a bit. I'll be replacing it with a high quality unit and using VEMS to control it. Yes, open dump is intoxicating. Of course, here is mine with the 3 inch turbo back side dump.

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Newish Exhaust
I am actually surprised how well the car runs with a 3' section of 2.5" pipe in the exhaust. I need to log boost onset, but I can't really notice a drop in spool. Probably thanks to the quick spool valve, the single 2.5" pipe is a good match until the qsv opens
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Newish Exhaust
Mine too, runs 3" back to the dump, but from there is 2.5 to the muffler out the back. I love the first 3 seconds of your video. The thing tries to leave planet earth!

Chris, I watch it at least 5 times in a row, every time, lol. You should see a few of the other vids I have from that little joy ride. To encriminating to post, sideways camera pointing at concrete walls kind of fun.
Darin, your turbo sounds great in that vid.

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Newish Exhaust
Sounds great Jim. I have a QTP cutout and it is the best quality I have seen from a cutout. Seals pretty well, there is inevitably a very small out of leakage around the shaft on any butterfly valve design....hardly noticeable though. One thing to note is that if you have a backfire/pop (bouncing off redline, etc) it will bend the plate slightly and cause it to leak. Easy enough to bend it back with a pair of pliers though.
