So Marc and I have been at it all day via emailing back and forth trying to get this thing going... We're getting really close timing is still kicking my rear but we have fire and fuel! If I can just get them to hit at the correct time. Made this little video.

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Ok found a wire unplugged, it was the wire going to the alternator and now I have TPS and a few other things I didn't have before. I got my fuel pump hooked up and running (just ran strait to the battery until I can figure out how to get the VEMS to run it. Here are some cranking videos.

Thanks Marc! Know your super busy im trying to figure out everything. Here is the video I took just now don't know what I'm looking at really. Noticed the rpm guage isn't moving and neither is the TPS when I move the throttle (not sure if it's supposed too). Hopefully the video will tell if things ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Finally traced a few wires enough to locate a couple hot wires that needed to be connected to the harness to power up the VEMS. Got the engine turned over but no readings changed on the laptop. Need to read up more on what I need to look for.

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
So I printed out and laminated the wiring diagrams so hopefully I canget them all figured out. I didn't know I needed another O2 sensor so I need to order a WBO2 (LSU 4.2). Still just trying to figure the system out. I see no inputs for power on the adapter harness that Marc made so it has to come ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Lastly working on the fuel pump issue. I purchased a Bosch 044 type fuel pump and trying to adapt it to the original Murci filter and it's proving to be a little of a pain. I just went and ordered a bunch of metric fittings to make it work should be here next week. I'll post more pictures of this ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Time for an update, purchased a used rollback to transport the car around since it's so wide it won't fit on a car hauler and got sick of paying a wrecker everytime I needed to take it somewhere. Took it and got it aligned earlier in the week. Alos got the muffler all setup and mounted (have ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Not much to update… I pulled the Auto Transmission wires from the engine harness installed the down pipes & O2's, removed all of the evap system from the Murcielago and the 4.2 and ran the engine harness to the other side of the motor to be ready when the VEMS gets here. Fuel pump should be here ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Im still working on finding transmission, I have a few leads im working. the plan was to go with a 6 speed Quatto 01E and have it welded but they are 33" long and will come out where my muffler is supposed to be. The 5 speed I have is 24" I need to try to find something that is 24"-30" long. Sorry ...

Also if anybody is needing any A8 body/interior parts I have a complete car minus wiring motor/tranny. Wiring I'll let go after the swap is complete, might need some connectors or something.

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
So continuing here, started messing with the Murci fuel system today, drained the tank (been sitting for a few years) and noticed whatever was coming out of the tank wasn't gas, it was water so needless to say jumped both fuel pumps and they are both bad. This weeks plan it to pull the tank, machine ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Reason I ask, is I work for Lamborghini. These things are insanely raw to drive, they make my 4k seem like a total luxury mobile. Should be a total blast to drive, I hope you decide to turbo it! That open header V8 sounds like a total beast, but even the Murcielago SV isn't enough power IMO.

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
Made a little headway today just messing with the stock ECU and wiring. After doing a little looking my RPM sensor (not sure what to call it goes on the tranny) anyway didn't know my transmission had a place for it. I found the location plugged it in and it fired right up on some ether. Im going to ...

Re: Murcielago 4.2 Swap
I actually have a 95% completed ABZ-to-VEMS harness adapter if you are interested in it.
My understanding is that this isn't a ABZ engine, am I wrong? I would defiantly be interested if it could be used!
It is actually. The ABZ is the standard A8 V8. The S8 is an ABZ with some upgrades to the ...

Glad you made it over here!
Curious why you don't just go standalone? Vems is a pretty good bargain, even with a PnP harness from Marc @ EFI Express, and there is a lot of support available.
Tell me more? I'm not set on using the factory ecm, just figured it wouldn't be hard plus all of the ...
