Did you find anything yet? I just pulled mine. It also has Magnecore wires.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I haven't been on in a while so I figured I would catch up to the things I have been doing. Jeff flew in to help change out the light weight lifters. I had my valve cover machined to accept the 2.0 coils, had Marc make me a plug and play harness and I sent him my ECM so he can make changes to the ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
i started daily driving the car to work and have another "to do list" to be comfortable to drive everyday. A.C. Is one of them. The car definitely rides stiffer in the front now. I was used to the factory ride that was definitely softer. The car sits so low that I can't get it on the alignment rack ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I went to TX2K17 this past weekend and was blown away by the level of money that these cars had in them. Twin turbo Lambos, GTR's, Vettes, Ferrarri, Audi, big turbo Supras were a dime a dozen. Hands down, the Nissan Skyline GTR was by far the fastest car consistently/consecutively. I saw 197mph ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I finally had some time off from work and got everything put back together (minus the black trim below the grille). I took it out and on the third hard pull it sounded like a shotgun going off under the hood. I was mostly scared but then my heart stopped. I thought... WTF, OMG... what the hell was ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I found a good spot to mount the vacuum pump and it's really close to the booster so it will be minimum vacuum hose. It's mounted low so that the motor on the vacuum pump doesn't get direct hot air blown on it from the radiator when the fans turn on. Since the brake booster tucks in close to the ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
So moving on and pushing forward with progress, I have done everything on the brakes that I think can/need to be done except for the vacuum issue. When the brake booster was converted to vacuum, I noticed the brake pedal was hard and I still didn't get the braking power I needed. So I put a vacuum ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
At least it left the shop with a wrap of electrical tape on it.
The sad part is that there was enough new wire spliced on that you could have cut that bad section out and it would reach the starter.
It was a good thing I looked closer because the large nut that holds the wire on the stud of the ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
It was a good thing I checked the motor mount bracket bolts too. This bolt was too long, bottomed out in the block, and not tightened down to the bracket. I just used a shorter bolt and tightened it up.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I've been working my way through the car and found more things that I'm glad I found now sooner than later.
This was new wire going to my starter.
What kind of slice in the wire do you think this is?...
A. I don't give a sh*t splice... Or
B. I don't know any better...

I'm really liking the oil cooler. I am curious how it performs to keep the oil temp down and if it's loud. I definitely want to hear how it goes cross country.

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - 636whp 07k
Jim, I was thinking about it and are you going to run a line to a two port tank/accumalator from the manifold or some point where you have boost, put a check valve on that side so the pressure will stay in the tank,.... then on the second port, have a solenoid valve controlled by VEMS that delivers ...

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - 636whp 07k
I was thinking the same thing. I'm not knowledgeable enough to do it with tuning but thought it would be nice to have both sides open when you wanted. For example... stop and go traffic where you don't build up enough boost to cause it to open and you want it open to let the hot exhaust gas to to ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I'm not worried, the bolt is still pretty thick. The two roll pins support the weight of the filter/manifold and the bolt just squeezes the manifold to the block and insures the gasket doesn't leak. I'll check the required torque spec, but I'm sure it's not much. The bolt is just large because it ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Thanks for looking out for me Jim. I've learned a lot from everyone's projects on here. Better to remind about getting those light weight lifters out of the head before they trash my motor like your situation. Here's a pic of the end result of the bolt, It might better describe what I was going ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I will send a pic of the bolt. The oil flows through the center of the bolt just like it did before. All that I had to to is relocate the holes in the bolt to better align with the ports on the aluminum manifold. There are only two ports on the manifold. It really didn't even have to do that because ...

If you're not happy with your Comp turbo, my 8374 EFR might be available soon and the hot side is Polydyn coated inside and out. It only has some dyno time and several hard pulls around the house.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I didn't get a chance to take a pic of the bolt last night but you can get a good idea of what I did by these two pics. I cut the bolt in half, added a center section that is the length of the thickness of the spacer, beveled the ends for welding, had the machine shop turn down a centering pin to ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
What you are looking at is the bolt before I lengthened it. This picture was to show the comparison between the three filters. I'll see if I can load I pic of the bolt when I get home. I actually cut the bolt in half, welded a center section in, had to drill the inside deeper, and add a couple of ...

Let me have that part number for that 1.8 liter filter if you have it. I am realy curious now. It might be worth a shot if it will fit and it is considerably larger. I have checked a lot of post on different filters and saw where guys are grinding down the webbing on the block but I'm not willing to ...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Hopefully this is one of the last little projects I do before leaving it alone and start driving it. Jeff ported my oil pump when he built the motor and we recently talked about benefits of a larger oil filter at higher RPMs. Right now I can only run a small oil filter because of the webbing of the ...
