- I've got enough Bosch VE knowledge now to Frankenstein Injection Pumps together, and successfully built, tested, and tuned a Turbo VE Pump ...

Engines are here, I have enough parts for 3, sans injection pumps and timing belts, but easily resolved.

Preffer 5th gears from MV/2M gearbox code 013s. Will accept VM/QJs as well.

I did some calculations with the 5000q Avant gear ratios, it won't actually be bad at all, top speed @ 3700 RPMs in 5th is about 95 MPH, cruising at about 3000 (average 5th gear cruise for most TDIs) is 77-79 MPH.

With a simple 5th gear swap to 0.60 from a Porsche 016, that would drop down ...

If you want a replacement diff for your 4k trans (or any other trans parts) I can send you the one I just pulled out for my torsen->locker science project. I'm planning to clean out the garage this weekend so LMK before I send it to the scrap bin.

Hooray, more TDI Quattro goodness!

Acquired 4 of the 5 TDI Pistons/Rods, also Acquired 5 TDI Injectors and a Garrett T3 from a Merc Turbo.

Further research is also justifying this build, as its confirmed the 2.5l TDI head is correct for the 2.4lD block

So, here's the parts list for the Turbodiesel Build:

VW AAB with TD Injection Pump
Mercedes 300SD KKK K24
Stock 20vt Exhhaust Manifold
Stock 20vt Intercooler
Pyrometer

The bolt pattern on the AAB is the same as the 20vt block, so the mounts will fight right on without issue, and shares the same ...

New issue is the VSS is now its a reed switch rather than a pulse generator like the old one. Gotta figure out how to get a clean pulse, as its not driving the speedo properly

Swapped out the transmission on the 4000q with the parts bin 200qs, had to swap out the front drive flanges to do it and swap the shifter ball alignment ball.

Surprisingly the rear driveline flange is the correct one.

Yup. The plan is to install a Class III hitch (currently has a Class II) and use the now much more torque-y 5000q as the 4000q Rally Car's tow vehicle.
