Audi 4000Q 2.7 Single Turbo 01e PROJECT
Was building this to be a fun, reliable, and easy to work on/maintain monster. I've made a lot of headway on this and love the idea as it's been coming together. That said it kinda sucks watching your daughter start to walk and wondering where all the time has gone as you glance at a 4000 sitting in ...

Re: Audi 4000q 2.7 Single Turbo
Nice little 8 hour round trip to New York and back to pick up a rust-free rear end... who says you need a truck!
Engine mounts are done; motors sitting a little crooked because of I only have 1 B5 S4 trans mount holding that in; guess I need to make those next.
And... started work on the GT35 turbo ...

Re: Audi 4000q 2.7 Single Turbo
I haven't touched anything aside from the frame rails, so I suppose only the top section for the grill was cut out.
I hear ya on space, its very limited... I think a large side mount intercooler on the driverside will be sufficient, and if not... meth will be added.
Radiator will fit up front, I ...

Re: Audi 4000q 2.7 Single Turbo
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I updated the main post so your comments may seem off, but I appreciate you answering my question about removing the front end. With the V6 being stuffed in, I can put it in the car with an 01e as is, so I'll try to keep the front intact!

Audi 4000q 2.7 Single Turbo
I JUST CAN'T STAY DORMANT WITHOUT A BUILD!
Picked up a 4000q with the intention of 5.2 swapping it as I have everything short of a flywheel and headers to make it happen again. Welp, guess I should've measured first! I know the 2.7t inside and out and I know they're pretty potent as well as the ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
I think for me... setting up the vacuum brake boost, power steering, is all thats needed.
The air conditioning will never happen unfortunately, which I'd want, but at the same time as long as the first two are finished, I'd be happy.
Which leads me to my next question, who rebuilds power steering ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Some more rips for you guys as well as just a general update on everything! I plan on keeping it for a while; only consideration to sell it would be to have something I'd feel comfortable driving my daughter around in (It's getting there though!)

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Now this is awesome! I purchased an AEM CD5 cluster with GPS and it plugs right into the OBD2 port! It has a super high baud rate so responsiveness great! Still playing around with it, but absolutely loving it!

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Thanks everybody!
Here is a real short clip of the driver. Keep in mind there's still a 4,000rpm soft limiter so in reality, this car's not even close to singing! As my buddy said... "Hey is that a supercar coming?!?!.. Oh wait, just a shitbox". Haha

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
I'm about 3000 miles in on the 5.2 v10 so far and everything it holding up great. We've all but finalized the tune and oh my 'lanta, it's glorious (I attached a short video for ya). Engine bay is 100% buttoned up, I mean... it's pretty damn great! Also bought 2 more 5.2's, one as a spare and another ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
The RS4 flywheel accommodates for the changing in the crank position sensor. The issue was that you need to have the C6 S6 instrument cluster connected, as the ECU signals communicate through it via CANBUS.

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
I'm slightly reviving this simply because I can't get the car to stay running and need some serious help!
Engine/transmission is all hooked up and ready to go. Both ECU's had the immobilizers deleted and I'm not getting any weird fault codes.

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Its scary how at home this engine sits in the C4 chassis.
The intake plumbing was just to make it look complete...
I'll be doing 2.25" piping on either side to run under the headlights and as far away from the headers as possible.

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Engine mount brackets are done. Due to height constraints, I'm only able to run 1 hockey puck on either side this time, but it's all good. Fits like a glove with the HPFP's which I thought would be an issue. Also, the OEM C6 S6 fan's and fan shroud with the 2" radiator I had with some trimming so I ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Alrighty, made some decent progress these past few days. Made a lift plate since the S6 5.2 didn't come with pick-up points for a hoist. Thing is sturdy as a rock and has a front crossbar to grab onto with a ratchet to change the pitch of the motor! Pretty sweet! I also changed the 5.2 timing cover ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2
Going to be getting headers, and tuning. Will open the door for 500hp at the crank.
I can always make a new intake for it aswell if it needs to breath better. The car won't experience headstock as it does in the tight confines of the C6 and D3 chassis aswell.

Re: URS6 + 4.2T ADDING THE BOOST!!
Well I guess this is it.. Cylinder 8 looks like the lunar surface now. I guess the detonations caused a hot spot and it's just been progressively getting worse; even with good gas in it. I'm scraping the B5 S4 swap, but it'd appear I still have a perfectly good V10 and a chassis in need of a new ...
